Mabon/Autumnal Equinox Celebration 2007OH MY GODS PEOPLE!!!! This was one of the best rituals ever! Danny and Karly did an absolutely wonderful job with the ritual and even wrote and included a song as part of the ritual itself. Karly's voice was straight from the heavens and the song itself left everybody with goosebumps. A feast was included as part of the ritual with tables set for each Quarter and foods representing that particular energy filling the tables. Everything from Jon wearing the little straw bonnet and calling "Fire HO!" to the pyramid that showed up in the sky (hopefully someone got a picture of it) to the tears from the song and the laughter from the tomfoolery as well as the multi-coloured flames in the bonfire, this was truly a magical ritual. From the very get-go there was so much happening metaphysically... Sorry, words just cannot really describe everything that happened and was felt. Hopefully some of the pictures below will help to explain. Just click on the picture to see a larger one. Hit your back button to return to this page. The following set is courtesy of Jeanie... Thanks Jeanie
And of course this is the original notice for the ritual... There will be an open ritual celebrating the turning of the Wheel to the Autumnal Equinox, also known as Mabon on September 22nd, 2007. Ritual will begin about 7:30 p.m. Blackberry Circle's Karly and Danny are leading this ritual celebrating the second harvest of the year. They request that in the stead of bringing the normal potluck items to please bring a simple finger food that represents your element/zodiac sign. These foods will be placed in the quarters of the Circle and used as part of the ritual. For those who may not know what to bring there is a table below that lists the different signs, elements and foods associated with those elements. Be creative and simply include something from the foods column in your snack. If folks want we will have a revel fire (bonfire) and if you bring your drums and other instruments, poi, sticks, et cetera, we will have more fun than a Pagan is allowed. It is also during this ritual that we will begin taking on students. You can learn more about being a student and what we are teaching by visiting the Student's Page. This event will be child friendly so bring the young'uns Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. You are more than welcome to bring refreshments of your own liking. Please leave your fur children (pets) at home
