Lughnassadh/Lammas Celebration 2007The Lughnassadh/Lammas ritual was led by Keith and Kim. Once the Circle was cast the energy began to rise and all had a great time. Granted, a large amount of the energy was probably due to the extreme Texas heat that is so prevalent in August (I think it was 98 degrees at 8:00 PM) but you could definitely feel the flow of the magical energy. Keith and Kim did a great job of teaching the background and some of the Mysteries regarding Lammas and the turning of the Wheel to the first harvest. We had quite a few new folks attend this ritual and there was some good philosophical discussions that took place between the various practitioners regarding traditions and current practices. Lots of great food showed up (fantastic curry chicken) and new friends were made. If each ritual continues to grow like this one and we meet more new friends we will have to get more acreage to hold everyone. Thank you to everyone that attended and took part in the ritual And of course the original notice... There will be an open celebration and ritual for Lughnassadh / Lammas on August 11th, 2007. Ritual will begin at 7:00 p.m. Due to the fact that our events are child friendly in that children are welcome to attend the events, Blackberry Circle has adopted the policy that the events are a NO DRUG ZONE. Drinking is still allowed but only if it is done in moderation and to the effect that people do not become severely impaired. Those who are on their way to impairment through heavy drinking or those who are suspected to be under the influence of drugs will be asked to leave. Festivities will include:
This event will be child friendly so bring the young'uns and as always, bring a stone, rock or brick to add to the path. Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. You are more than welcome to bring refreshments of your own liking. Please leave your fur children (pets) at home
