Beltane Celebration 2007

Beltane 2007 was conducted by Mike, a friend of the coven and our wonderful Terri. The entire event and ritual was very, um, well, energetic and sensual. We hope Mike will come back and lead another ritual some time in the future.

Beltain 2007

Altar is set up in the North Corner. Altar table needs to be set up with bowls of water & salt, red pillar candle. Maypole set up in the middle. And do not forget Cakes & Ale.

Call the Quarters:

North (Earth): I call to the deep bones of the Earth. Rise up and form a solid foundation for this rite and those attending here.

Walk to the East

East (Air): We call to the breath of the universe. Blow through us and cleanse this space and those attending here.

Walk to the South

South (fire): We call to the great Phoenix kindled with in us and burn away all negativity and spark our passions and energize our intents.

Walk to the west

West (water): We call to the life blood of universe, flow through us and wash away our doubts and balance our emotions.

Quarters are called, Mike moves to the altar and Terri moves to the Maypole.

Circle Cast (Mike at Altar and Terri at Maypole)

Mike cast the circle and says:

•  Salt into water by casting the no spell no unknown purpose be except in true accord with me and as our will so mote it be. (repeat 2 more times)

•  Incense = Air. And now this oily essence fare adds its great power to the air attracting sprits of the light protecting us both day & night this charge is true and proper see and as our will so mote it be. (repeat 2 more times)

•  Creatures of fire this charge I give no evil in my presences live no phantom spook or spell may stay around this place not night nor day hear these words addressed to thee as our will so mote it be (repeat 2 more times)

Mike and Terri move back to the Altar

Call of the Lord & Lady:

Mike: We call to the great Father, he of great wisdom and power. Father we invite you to enter into this time that is not a time and be witness and participant in this rite.

HAIL DAGDA AND WELCOME. Mike lights candle

Terri: We call to the great Mother, the lady of over flowing abundance and Sovereign Queen. Mother we invite you to enter in this place that is not a place, in this time, that is not time and a witness and participant in this rite.

HAIL DANU AND WELCOME. Terri lights candle

Mike addresses everyone about the maypole and explains the dance around the pole. Mike and Terri move back to the pole. Mike & Terri get positioned around the pole.

Drumming and dancing around the Maypole with ribbons….when all is done Mike will tie off the ribbons.

Dismissal of ritual, Saying Goodbye to the Goddess & God

Mike says goodbye to Dagda: Great Father, Dagda, we Thank you for your participation in our lives and in our rite. You are always with us and we thank you for your attention. Stay or leave as you must, Hail & Farewell.

Mike dismisses the corners:

To all the spirits gathered around who in their protection this circle have bound, our gratitude we freely give and in our hearts you will always live.

Stay or leave as you must, harming none on your way we trust with this rhyme we set the free and as our will so mote it be.

Terri says: The circle is open but unbroken. Merry Meet, Merry Part, Merry Meet Again. We invite you to Fest.
